NRA Personal Protection In The Home Student Course

 

Course Prerequisites: NRA Basic Pistol Course, Massachusetts Basic Firearms Safety Course

Course Description: 

This course teaches the basic essentials, knowledge, skills, and attitude  to the safe and efficient use of a handgun for protection of self and family, and to provide information on the law-abiding individual’s right to self-defense.

 

Course Topics:

  • Basic Defensive shooting skills

  • Choosing a handgun for self-defense

  • Firearms and the law

  • NRA Guide to the Basics of Personal Protection In The Home handbook

  • NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure Opportunities for further skill development

  • Range Time-Students should expect to shoot approximately 100 rounds of ammunition

  • Strategies for home safety responding to a violent confrontation

  • Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet

Equipment Needed:

  1. 100 rounds (Reloads/Re-manufactured Ammunition not allowed)

  2. Center-fire Pistol

  3. Ear Protection

  4. Eye Protection

  5. Notebook & Pen

  6. Positive Attitude

  7. Valid Driver's License or Government Issued Identification

Course Duration: 8 Hours
