Course Description: 

Have you ever wanted to increase your skill set to include suturing?  This 5 hour workshop will give you the basic knowledge and skill to manage wounds with basic wound closure techniques including suturing. Wound management is both knowledge based and skills based. This course not only gives you the principles of management but also the hands on training to develop the skill of suturing. Each student will receive a suture training kit with multiple sutures to practice with both during and after the workshop. Target Audience:  Anyone interested in increasing their skill set. This is an informational workshop and should not be construed as a certification to practice medicine.

• Principles of wound management

• Principles of wound closure

• The simple interrupted stitch

• The Surgeon’s Knot

• Wound healing
