NRA Pistol Instructor Course

Course Prerequisites: Basic Instructor Training*, NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting Student Course

Course Description: 

This 16-hour course teaches the knowledge, skills and attitude essential to organizing, promoting and teaching NRA’s Basic Pistol Shooting course. This course focuses on the fundamentals of teaching and instruction in preparing the student to become Certified by the NRA to teach the NRA Basic Pistol Course. *Day 1 of the 2 Day course covers all of the requirements for the Basic Instructor Training.
 

Course Topics:

• Basic public speaking skills

• Building a budget

• Developing basic course student packets

• Lesson plans

• NRA policies and procedures

• Organizing a course

• Preparing to teach

• Training methodology

• Use of a training team and training aids

Equipment Needed:

1. Laptop Computer/Tablet with ability to open PDF Course Documents

2. Notebook & Pen

3. NRA Pistol Instructor Pre-Course Qualification Checklist (Click for PDF)

4. Positive Attitude

5. Sneakers/Boots (NO Dress Shoes, Flip Flops Open Toed or Sandals)

6. Students must bring in a copy of their NRA Basic Pistol Student Certificate 

7. Valid Driver's License or Government Issued Identificatio
